All BEA China branches and sub-branches can offer a variety of foreign currency deposit services to all types of customers.

1.  Multi-currencies Passbook Savings Account

A variety of foreign currency savings deposits including Hong Kong dollar, Canadian dollar, US dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Australian dollar, and Pound Sterling are available. Deposits in other foreign currencies can be arranged upon request *.

Passbooks are provided to customers recording the details of banking transactions.

Deposits and withdrawal should be made at the account opening branch; for individual accounts operated by a password, deposits and withdrawals at the counter of BEA China branches or sub-branches. +

No book deposits / withdrawals / transfers are accepted

Hong Kong dollar and US dollar cheque books can be provided upon a customer's request.

Detailed account statements will be issued to the account holders regularly.

3.  Time Deposit

A variety of foreign currency time deposits including Hong Kong dollar, Canadian dollar, US dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Australian dollar, and Pound Sterling are available. Deposits in other foreign currencies can be arranged upon a customer’s request *.

Deposit terms can range from a 24-hour call up to 1 year or more; auto-renewal instructions can also be set.

Preferential deposit rates are offered for deposits exceeding USD3 million or its equivalent.

Common types of foreign currencies
 
  * The currency type available for deposits may be restricted by the related banking regulation in the locality of different China branches and sub-branches.
+ Cash deposits / withdrawals may be regulated by the related banking regulation based on nature of the account.
